Natives of the Nilgiris
After many theories by leading scholars have strongly evaluated the migration theory and confirmed that the Badagas are natives of the Nilgiris. Their languages existed without scripts.With regard to religion, prior to converting to Hinduism the badagas were the powerful nature worshipers. Till today they worship stones with nature being a central theme can be found in the Nilgiris.The first village evolved was 'Hubbathalai' which is situated near coonoor.
